Chelsea Crutchley is an illustration grad from ACAD who has made up stories all her life, though she didn’t always read comics. She fell in love with the medium quite by accident, after realizing that becoming an animator for Disney just didn’t suit. For her, comics are an ideal way to tell stories because they combine the visual dynamism of animation with the creative control of the written word. Her inspiration comes from travelling, bits of history she has learned, and the storybooks she loved as a child.
Stray Sod, a webcomic about forgiveness, sisterhood and Irish folklore which she writes, draws, colours and letters is her ongoing personal project. She is also a freelance illustrator, part-time graphic designer, and a lunch lady who enjoys coaching young readers.
