Feature Opportunity for Ramsay
We have an opportunity for Ramsay! The Ramsay Newsletter circulates to the entire Ramsay community. Sam Hester, a graphic recorder and Panel One Member, has been filling a page in the community’s newsletter for a number of years. However, she wants to spotlight other creators and expose a community of Calgarians to independent comic creators.
The newsletter needs a monthly contribution that is due the month before the newsletter comes out (i.e. Feb. 15 deadline for a March delivery date).
There is one page for you to contribute – whether it be a written piece, illustrations, comic strip, etc.
The newsletter goes to about 1300 households. It’s also published online at the Ramsay Community Association website. Not only does this give you a chance to win the hearts of Ramsay readers, the newsletter’s also collected by the Calgary Public Library. So it’s (sort of) a published work, albeit an unpaid one.
Yes, that’s the catch – no payment. But you still own it, you can do whatever you like with it, and you can absolutely re-use some existing, already-published work. So if you already have a neighbourhood-themed piece that would fit on an 8.5×11″ page.
