PanelOne creators are from all disciplines and all career stages. They have all worked together to put a spotlight on local, original work. When they first started, Panel One’s membership was predominantly based in Calgary, but they now have members all over Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and
Ontario. Since Panel One focuses on Canadian creators, we even have some members who are living and creating abroad in Ireland, Scotland and Singapore.
PanelOne isn’t exclusively about indie comics – though the majority of their members are working on creator-owned and independently published work. There members are also working for major pubishers like Marvel, IDW and more.
The mission of Panel One is very simple: to work together to celebrate and promote the work being done by members, to turn heads towards the dedicated and talented people working in comics in Canada and to help one another succeed.
